Rigger – Closing date 17 January 2022

Salary (Grade 5):  £25,7000 – £32,320 per annum (dependent upon experience)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Standard hours Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm and 8.00am to 1.30pm on Friday, however they are adjustable to suit work requirements and locations, with consultation.

Location: Based at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, with periods of work in Hartlepool and Belfast.

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) is looking recruit a full-time rigger to join their in-house Rigging team, maintaining the masts, yards and rigging on HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, HMS Trincomalee, HMS Caroline and HMS M33, undertaking both routine and project work under the direction of the NMRN Master Rigger.  This is a great opportunity for someone with experience working on and maintaining traditional vesselsThis might suit someone with experience working as a deck hand, bosun or mate on a traditional small craft, or working on a tall ship as bosun’s mate or deck hand.
